The director of Washington’s Textile Museum, Daniel Walker, talks about why people are captivated by rugs and textiles. He also describes his two favorite items from this 2009 exhibit called “From Timbuktu to Tibet.” The exhibit featured Oriental and Persian textiles used by cultures as diverse as nomadic tribes and royal dynasties. ‘
